Protector of the Stars

Every major video gamer has to know one very special dude from a Super Mario game: Geno. Geno is one awesome fighter, although, to be in SSB, he'd have to be nerfed.

Geno, the protector of Star Road, watches over the Mushroom Kingdom, protecting it from evil beings (like Smithy). First appearing in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, Geno has become a worldwide phenomenon. He last appeared in Mario RPG, but recently had a cameo in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, where a doll of him explained minigames.

  • Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (1997, SNES)
  • Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (2003, NDS)

Geno is one tough puppy. He uses the ever powerful (and signature) Geno Whirl against evildoers, which could be his Final Smash, due to the fact that Geno can deal up to 999+ damage with it.

Geno Boost, another one of Geno's moves. Fond memories... of yesterday. Anyway, Geno would be able to use his epic boost powers to boost his way sideways, similar to Fox's side attack. It could also be his down-move, where it acts as a shield (like Ness'/Lucas' down move).

What could be next..... Geno Beam. Geno Beam could be used to..... fire a beam forward. I think, maybe like Bowser's fire breath. This could be his neutral move.

Considering if you prefer Geno Boost as a down move, then Geno Blast could be for you! Geno Blast could work very similar to Lucario and Mewtwo's B-Moves: they charge balls of energy and fire them, right? That's what Geno would do!

Geno's Up move is simple: he shoots a beam downward (damaging anyone under him) while going upward.

Geno is a likely candidate (who will still never happen... ever) due to this special little quote from a certain little website called Destructoid.
Notice how the columns are set up. First two are Mario franchises, third Zelda, fourth retro, fifth Kirby/Pikmin (possibly the incredibly small but resized column), sixth Star Fox with Captain Falcon (pilots?), seventh Pokemon, eighth RPGs, and last being 3rd party characters. Now what’s interesting about this is the inclusion of a random button, something that we haven’t seen in either the original nor Melee. A spot that Geno would be perfectly suited for otherwise. Would absence of any SMRPG references in Brawl also support this idea?

While some also point out that IMDB has Makiko Omoto, the voice of Ness, listed as the voice actor for Geno, this could easily be the result of user abuse. At one point we had Leon Kennedy listed in there as well and that had no remote possibility of being true.
